How safe is Dubai, really?

Very. Low street crime, a strong police presence and a culture where public order is taken seriously mean most people feel comfortable walking, taking taxis and dining alone, day or night. As anywhere, use normal common sense, but Dubai rarely gives you a reason to feel on edge.

The simplest of all is a shared sunset yacht cruise: reserve a single seat, and you spend the evening with a small group of fellow travellers and locals, often leaving with new friends.
